A short brake birding tour to explore the wetlands around Thessaloniki.
The wetlands around Thessaloniki are excellent birding sites, especially during migration time and winter. The wetlands of Kalochori laggon, Gallikos estuary and Axios - Loudias Delta are located just a dew kilometres west of Thessaloniki centre with very easy access. East of the city and near the airport you can visit Aggelochori lagoon. Another option is a visit to Volvi and Koronia lakes, about 20km NE of Thessaloniki.
